Dr. Anna Gilchrist is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management and Ecology at the University of Manchester, with a PhD in climate change and species range expansion. Her research focuses on the socio-ecological dynamics of landscape changes, human-nature interactions, and their impact on biodiversity. Dr. Gilchrist is Co-Programme Director for the MSc in Nature Recovery, Restoration, and Rewilding. She has led impactful projects, including a Natural England Evidence Review on upland recreation and a study on green infrastructure and aging populations. Her recent work explores transformative conservation methods, particularly rewilding, and the challenges of implementing it in cultural landscapes.
