About me
Gareth is a forester with Forestry England in the English Lake District. He looks after 4700 ha of forest, mountain, lake and farmland including Ennerdale and Whinlatter. He is a founding member of Wild Ennerdale, one of England's longest running re-wilding partnerships. He is also recognised as a leading practitioner in Continuous Cover Forestry. Gareth is a Christian and member of the Leadership Team of his local church. He enjoys photography, caravanning, biking and kayaking. In 2023 Gareth was honoured with an MBE for services to Forestry and Nature Recovery.
