About me
Harvey Tweats is the director of Celtic Rewilding, a pioneering conservation organisation initially focused on restoring Britain’s lost amphibians and reptiles, although now the company has a much broader reach. With a deep passion for wildlife conservation, Harvey has dedicated his career to bridging the gap between science, public engagement, and practical rewilding efforts. He has worked on numerous high-profile rewilding projects across the UK, specialising in the restoration of lost wildlife, including beavers, European pond turtle, and white stork. Harvey’s expertise spans some 42,000 acres of land – which is now in some form of ecological restoration – and multiple disciplines, from ecological consultancy, project management and creative design. An advocate for sustainability, and long-term, ambitious rewilding, Harvey regularly speaks at conferences and engages with media on the importance of rewilding in combating climate change and restoring Britain’s degraded biodiversity.
