About me
Martin Varley is conservation professional with over 20-years’ experience of strategic conservation leadership and development with expertise land acquisition and management, species reintroduction and recovery, conservation financing, science, natural capital, climate mitigation and adaptation and nature-based solutions. He now manages Cumbria Connect, a large-scale nature restoration programme across 40,000ha of Cumbria, and manages a team of experts leading on nature and climate, future farming, venison production and nature-based place-making. Two members, Alix Syder, Cumbria Connect Social Scientist, and Nicola Estill, Cumbria Connect People and Places Officer, will share delivery of the workshop.
