About me
With a multi-disciplinary background in physical geography and conservation biology, Rachel has a firm grounding in the biotic and abiotic processes shaping our landscapes. Conservation translocations were at the heart of Rachel’s postgraduate studies with Marwell Wildlife and University of Southampton. She determined factors contributing to successful reintroduction projects and led and studied the return of sand lizards to Eelmoor Marsh SSSI informing future captive breeding and release protocols. Rachel now advises and supports Forestry England colleagues and partners in their ambitious endeavours to recover key missing species, in line with national and international guidance and evidence-informed best practice.
